On Wednesday evening, May 25, 2011 a severe hail storm moved through our area. It began with tornado warnings followed by high winds, heavy rain, and the largest hail stones that most of us have ever seen. The storm covered much of Southwestern Ohio, but seemed particularly severe in the Dayton suburbs of Bellbrook, Centerville and Xenia.
Hundreds of Farmers policy holders have suffered damage to homes and automobiles from this devastating hail. Many people collected buckets of hail that were between the size of golf balls and tennis balls! It will take many weeks (and in some cases months) to fully recover from the damage caused by this storm.
The phones at the Greg Davis Agency started ringing off the hook the next day and haven’t stopped since! Over 20% of the households represented by our agency have filed auto and homeowners claims. Farmers had to bring in claims adjusters from other states including Pennsylvania, Tennesee and New Jersey to deal with the volume of cases.
